Term 2 mid way reflection

The term for year sevens. The students creative languages are starting to emerge. Each one of us has a creative language. For some it's rhythm or melody,  others teamwork others competition others mastering a small bar. During the creative practice time students really flourish. Congratulations on your ability to teach one another and choose your own music style , songs  solos and for all the teamwork.

We are all getting ready for the context sharing evening where we will perform on the Marimba and guitar and dance.

We hope that anybody reading this,  especially parents will come along to see the outcomes of the music and dance program.

End of term summary

Today was the beginning of the sharing of learning. We had a canon battle , a Titanic performance, but not literally , a hip hop dance, a piano duet and a class band. I was so proud of the students. In the holidays it will give me great pleasure to write their reports.

The Year 8 students who have attended performing arts this term have given their all. Having small class sizes means the children have learnt to interact and be pushed and reach new heights.

Next term we start the Year 7 program, instrumental tuition on flute, guitar, drums, piano,  voice and violin... ...... And hopefully some extra blogger s from the classes.

Congratulations year 8 students on your dance project.

Today I saw the culmination of four weeks work and I think you should all be pleased.

I heard someone say " I can't wait to dance...... How strange"

And that's what this project was all about. It was about giving people the chance to dance and enjoy themselves in a creative group dance.

This may have been your last chance to do a project like it.

Today we finished our music unit. Wow everyone did  a marvelous job of recording themselves on four instruments. Some played Adelle's "Hello" and some played Gaudeamus Igitur.
